This call aims to support projects that develop and implement cutting-edge technologies and systems in renewable energy – from solar, wind and hydropower to biofuels and energy storage. At the same time, we want to promote the development of smart energy systems that integrate digitalization, automation and Artificial Intelligence to create flexible, resource-efficient and reliable energy solutions.

A project can be granted a maximum of 40 per cent of its total budget in support. In this call, there are SEK 30 million to apply for under Objective 2.2 and SEK 15 million under Objective 2.3. Please note that the budget for the call is preliminary and subject to change.

Public actors, universities/colleges, research institutes and business promotion actors.
Application Process
If you are interested in applying for funding, must read the handbook for EU projects 2021-2027 and in My application to prepare your application. There are several differences from the previous programming period. An important step is that you plan your project so that you are entitled to receive the support based on the rules that exist for state aid that benefits companies. The state aid rules may, for example, require a larger proportion of private co-financing.

The upcoming call for initiatives promoting renewable energy and smart energy systems in Upper Norrland, set to open on January 13, 2025, builds upon a history of successful regional projects. Previous funding programs have significantly advanced sustainable energy in Upper Norrland region.
