
Description
The ‘Communities for Climate‘ (C4C), an initiative of the European Commission, will support 50 community-led projects in eleven countries of the EU, accompanying them in the realisation of new and innovative ideas for citizens engagement to address climate and sustainability issues. These lighthouse projects will receive tailored support to help them develop a climate-related project, to become replicable models for other local communities willing to engage in climate projects across the EU.

Support scope
Selected local communities will benefit from specialised expertise, peer-learning, customised study visits, mentoring and coaching, and guidance on ways to make local community projects impactful and visible at European, national and local levels.
Eligibility criteria
Open to local communities committed to climate actions in the following areas: renewable energy, sustainable water management, circular and resource-efficient economy, regenerating biodiversity. The selected initiatives will be located in one of the eleven eligible EU countries: Croatia, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, Spain, and Sweden.
Application Process and Timeline
Applications for capacity building and technical support can be submitted through open calls.
