The Rural Energy Community Advisory Hub (RECAH) is an initiative on behalf of the European Commission assisting citizens, rural actors and local authorities in setting up a Citizen Energy Community or Renewable Energy Community in rural areas through technical and administrative advice and encouraging their development.

Support scope
One of the key activities of the Advisory Hub is providing direct technical assistance to a number of rural energy communities that will be selected via a call for applications. The aim of the technical assistance, in the form of expert support, will help improve the development and implementation of projects in a variety of areas, depending on the need of each individual rural energy community. One rural energy community can request multiple technical assistance activities within a single application.

Open to rural energy communities in the EU, focusing on sustainable energy projects in rural areas.

Evidence Of Success
For the past two years, the Rural Energy Community Advisory Hub (RECAH) has been dedicated to helping rural energy communities across Europe. The RECAH has provided 84 technical assistance activities to 27 energy communities in rural areas across Europe.
