The CE Implementa Call 6, part of Spain's Recovery Facility managed by IDAE, has launched with €30 million in funding dedicated to the promotion of projects both renewable electric energies and thermal renewable energies, energy efficiency or sustainable mobility, and may incorporate demand management systems. Renewable electricity projects must have an energy storage system. This call is especially aimed at large-scale projects, with a minimum investment of €1M per project.

Eligible for subsidies under this call are unique pilot projects led by energy communities—either Renewable Energy Communities (RECs) or Citizen Energy Communities (CECs). These projects are specifically designed to foster participation in the energy sector by engaging actors who do not traditionally participate in it. This approach aims to broaden involvement, empowering a wider range of stakeholders within the community to contribute actively to sustainable energy development.

Applications are made through IDAE online portal, with evaluation based on technical, economic, and environmental criteria. Decisions are typically made within 3-6 months.

Previous calls have funded many projects in solar PV, wind, and district heating, showcasing successful community-based energy models.

The CE Implementa incentive program is crucial for advancing energy communities in Spain, particularly through its sixth call, which allocates €90 million for large-scale, transformative projects.
