Description
The ManagEnergy is the European Commission initiative dedicated to regional and local energy agencies. It aims to support them in being leaders in the energy transition and accelerating sustainable energy investments in regions and cities. It is based on the idea that energy agencies are in a unique position to facilitate sustainable energy investments in Europe, but also to support the development and implementation of concrete projects at local/regional level and trigger innovation. The ManagEnergy 2022-2026 work programme aims to further support the role of energy agencies by providing information, know-how, visibility, and networking opportunities. The Master Classes and Expert Missions that have made the success of the previous contract will be back to raise the skills and capacities of energy agencies. A new capacity-building service will be organised, more focused on internal processes and day-to-day activities - the Work Shadowing.

Expert Opinion
The recently concluded ManagEnergy Master Class 5 on Energy Communities brought together 27 participants from 16 countries for an in-depth exploration of energy community projects across Europe. This course was specifically designed for representatives from local and regional energy agencies and municipalities, focusing on equipping them with skills to support the development and expansion of energy communities throughout Europe.
Looking ahead, participation in the upcoming ManagEnergy Master Class 8 on Energy Communities, scheduled for April 2025, will be invaluable for stakeholders involved in the energy transition. Building on the success of previous master classes, particularly Master Class 5, this session promises to provide advanced training and critical insights for those dedicated to establishing or growing energy communities across the continent.
